Emotions running high

Do you know when something happens to you that makes you feel angry, maybe you cry, fight or just get discouraged? We think we know everything at those times. All the negativity comes into our heads and anything bad can happen, because everything and everyone is against you and we're afraid, very afraid of what's to come, we're in a hurry, we're impatient, because almost nothing happens when we want it to.

I'm one of those. But I'm here to share something that has helped me a lot and maybe it can help you too. The first thing you need to think about is accepting that you are the way you are. I sometimes struggle to understand that I'm not a 100% positive person 100% of the time like some people I know, and there's probably one in your life too (or if you're one of them, close this window and go read something more interesting lol). I envy them (and you)...

Once you've started working on accepting that you're not always a positive, optimistic person, in other words, not questioning why you've always been this way (because that can be changed), the second step is to feel what you have to feel and then let go of the emotion. If something has happened that you don't like, no matter what you're feeling, feel it fully. Cry, scream, punch the pillow, release everything that's inside you at that moment and let it go. Don't hold on to any emotion that makes you think about the past situation any longer.

After releasing all the emotions inside us, the mind can't stop thinking, and that's where our proactivity comes in. Don't let your mind control the situation by telling you what should have happened or what should and shouldn't have been said. Immediately stop thinking these things, if necessary say out loud "stop", shake your head, imagine a big red stop, I don't know, anything, the important thing is to be aware that you're being guided by thoughts that aren't true, that don't help you and that don't deserve your attention. That's when you need to turn your attention to something that pleases you and keep it there. When you're feeling better, say thank you for having managed to break this vicious cycle.

Of course, this procedure is not as simple as described, but it is surprisingly effective. You feel good and more willing to solve the problem more sensibly, reasonably and thoughtfully. I've been doing this for some time and it's worked very well for me. Some times are easier than others, but all are successful. And more and more the use of this technique is dispensable, because you really start to see the positive side of everything that happens to you more naturally and spontaneously.

Sometimes we just need to trust more that we are capable of transforming everything that brings us low vibration feelings and not absorb ourselves in thoughts that only make us more confused and disconcerted with reality.

"The faculty of bringing a wandering mind back time after time is the root of judgment, character and will. No one can be master of himself without attention. An education that improves this faculty must be considered education par excellence." William James
