Have you ever noticed that the most powerful skincare treatments are usually recommended for the evening? It's no coincidence. During sleep, the skin goes into repair mode: metabolism speeds up, cell renewal intensifies and the absorption of active ingredients increases. It's in this scenario that nighttime skincare becomes the star.
While in the morning the mission is to moisturize and protect, at night the focus changes: it's time to regenerate, soothe and treat. That's why I usually dedicate more time to my nighttime routine – choosing products that follow the skin's biological rhythm and work in tune with the circadian cycle.
I've already shared here my morning routine– Now it's time to open my evening bag.
Grab your cup of tea and come with me:
Step 1: Double cleansing

I start my routine by removing my makeup with a cleansing oil or butter. Even on days when I don't have makeup on, I apply it the same way – the oil dissolves the sunscreen more efficiently.
I'm currently using Ginseng Cleansing Oil by Beauty of Joseon. I really like it: it has a light texture, a pleasant feel and does what it promises without damaging the skin. I'd definitely buy it again... but it'll be a while before I try the others on my list. 👀
After the oil, I go straight into the shower and do the second stage of cleansing with a gel or foam.

In the shower, I wash my face with a thicker, gentler cleanser. At the moment, I'm using Mugwort Calming Cleanser by Round Lab – I've tested all the brand's cleansers, and this is undoubtedly my favorite. This is the second time I've come back to it, which is saying a lot.
Cleansing is an essential step in preparing the skin: it removes residues that could interfere with the absorption of the actives applied afterwards, especially at night when the focus is on regenerating.
And here's a tip I've already shared in this other post on how to boost hydration. Instead of towel-drying your face after a shower, try letting it dry naturally. This helps the skin retain more water – a simple detail that makes a difference.
Step 2: Toner

After cleansing in the shower, I apply Toner Pad from Mixsoon. It's the first time I've used a toner in the form of a cotton pad, and I've already decided that I'm going to continue with this type of product. It works well, avoids waste and is super practical.
One thing I really like is that you can use the pads as a mini mask: I place them in strategic spots on my face and leave them on for about 10 minutes. The skin absorbs the ingredients better – and you can feel the difference immediately afterwards.

I intersperse the use of the toner pad with the Retino Collagen Small Molecule 300 from C-K-D. I apply a few drops straight on my hand and press it gently onto my face. I really like the texture – light, almost watery – and how it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it feeling fresh and ready.
Step 3: Reedle Shot 700 (Once a week)

The next step is Reedle Shot 700 by VT Cosmetics, but I only use it once a week, as recommended by the brand. This is because it has an intense action and doesn't work like a regular serum — it's actually a topical microneedling treatment, which requires more respect for the skin's natural regeneration time.
The formula contains microstructures that cause controlled micro-injuries. This increases the skin's permeability and enhances the absorption of the active ingredients applied afterwards. And yes, you do feel a slight tingling sensation when you apply it – some people report burning or even pain, others hardly at all. In my case, my skin tolerates it very well.
Because it is a product with a clinical use effect, even if it is made at home, it is important to apply it carefully and follow the instructions to the letter.
Step 4: Essence

The next step is 9+ NAD+ BIO Lifting Essence by Numbuzin. I'm a fan of the brand – all the products I've tested have delivered incredible results, and this one is no exception.
As I say in this post here on the ingredients and advanced technology of Korean cosmetics, this serum concentrates dermatological innovation in a single bottle. The list of its ingredients is jaw-dropping – and the price even more so.
Honestly, I could write a whole post just about this little beauty.
Step 5: Tretinoin

A tretinoin is a vitamin A derivative that acts directly on the cell receptors responsible for renewing the epidermis. It is a powerful active ingredient – with many benefits, but also side effects – which is why it is classified as a dermatological medication.
In addition to being highly effective in controlling acne, tretinoin is the most potent retinoid available for topical use. This makes it difficult for many people to adapt.
I've been using it for over a year and I've had a good experience, even with the ups and downs at the beginning. Honestly? This cream is the holy grail of skincare. I could easily write a whole post about it.
If you're interested in hearing about my experience with it, comment below.
Step 6: Serum

I made this serum myself: 2/3 organic rosehip oil and 1/3 pure vitamin E, also organic. I use it as the last step in the routine for sealing tretinoin – and, honestly, I think it's this oil that's largely responsible for my skin tolerating the tretinoin so well.
I have a special affection for it: I grew up using it Chilean rosehip oil in the wounds of the skin, so the bond is old. The vitamin E acts as a powerful antioxidant, helping to strengthening the skin barrier and maintain hydration for longer.
Step 7: Eye cream

I'm currently using Revive Eye Serum Ginseng + Retinal by Beauty of Joseon. It contains retinal– a derivative of vitamin A, but with a much gentler and moisturizing approach – even suitable for sensitive skin.
When I was in Brazil, I took one for my mother and she loved it. Another plus point: It also lasts a long timesince you use a very small amount on the eye area.
Step 8: Eyelash Serum

I have nothing against false eyelashes – I've even wanted to put them on. But the truth is: I can't give up Eyelash Serum by Cosnori. I'm on my third time using this serum, and it always delivers visible results.
Step 9: Lip Mask

Until recently, I used to use an Australian lip oil – until I decided to give Korean lip masks a try and started with the Collagen Boosting Lip Mask by TOCOBO. I fell in love with it straight away. The ingredients are incredible and the results speak for themselves.
Does it make a difference to use a lip mask instead of an oil? Absolutely! The texture, hold and regenerating effect are much more powerful and visible – especially at night.
Step 10: Facial Mist

And of course, couldn't end the routine without a Abib Facial Mist – simply the icing on the cake. Refreshing, soothing and with a fine mist that gives the perfect finishing touch to the skin.
TIP

For each stage, I always use one hand fan to help the products dry well on the skin. Allow each layer to absorb completely before applying the next. It is essential to prevent the active ingredients from diluting each other, ensure better penetration and reduce the risk of irritation – as well as speeding up the whole routine.
Final Thoughts
This is my current nighttime routine – built with a lot of intention, observation and experimentation. It takes a lot of trial and error to understand what our skin likes and needs. But more than a list of products, my night skincare is really a ritual that helps me slow down and take care of myself.
Now I want to hear from you: do you also have a nightly ritual that has become part of your self-care or do you want to start one? Let me know in the comments below!
Until the next sip,
