Strengths Finder 2.0

It's February and 2017 is already proving to be full of challenges for me. How is it going for you? Well, I'm here to share something that needs to be shared, because it's helping me a lot and can probably help you too.

It's about the book Strengths Finder 2.0 which I'm using as a source of self-knowledge. Let me sum it up for you. It all started when I started interviewing for jobs here in NZ and people would ask me what my qualities were.

As someone who is extremely critical of myself (is it good? is it bad? sometimes it helps, sometimes it hinders), I got to the point where I didn't know how to answer that question lol. In fact, I've already made a list of my 34 faults... ask me my faults, I know them all and then some! lol (crazy)

I know. Everyone has qualities, but "self-praise" is a difficult thing for me, I felt like I was calling my partner and saying to the interviewer: "Look, talk to my boyfriend, he knows my qualities." I swear!

That's when an angel appeared on my path, my coach, the person who is helping me to clarify my ideals! And she pointed me to this book, which is not new, but perhaps you don't know it.

This book basically helps you discover your five innate talents. What you do well naturally, without much effort, you know: There are a total of 34 talents that everyone possesses, but 5 of them are what you do best, intuitively, essentially what makes up your personality.

To arrive at these 34 talents, Dr. Don Clifton carried out years of research and studies. This man was the creator of Strengths Psychology (something like Strengths Psychology) which is basically based on improving our strengths and not on improving our weaknesses (as society and schools preach).

But the most wonderful thing about it all is that once you've taken the test in the book, you change the way you look at yourself and the world around you, as it says on the book's title page. You can really use it as a tool for self-discovery. I took the test and I was very surprised, because things came out that I hadn't imagined, but when I think about it, it all makes a certain amount of sense...

The book comes with a code to take the test only once online, so you can't borrow it, unfortunately. But it's well worth it. Ask for help, advice and opinions once you know your five natural talents. The book provides explanations, examples and tips on how to act for each of the 34 talents.

Now, let me tell you... I'm dying for someone to ask me what my qualities are lol. I already know 5! If you want to know my 5 talents, they're currently in my instagram bio. And please, if you take the test, tell me yours, because then I'll be able to understand you better!

You cannot be anything you want to be - but you can be a lot more of who you already are. Strengths Finder 2.0, end of page 9.

(They didn't pay me anything for that, okay?)

Lots of love,

Cha

  1. Excellent reading tip Amiga! Thanks for sharing your experience! From what I've seen, it's one of those reads for those who seek self-knowledge and above all seek to find hidden resources within themselves and thus develop as a person and professional. I'm going to buy it and then share my experience! Thanks Charlotte!!!
